Rainy but productive!

Well today was a rainy day but a lot was accomplished.

First we went to lunch...mmmm Wendy's
Then we took Aliya to the Children's Museum. She loved it!
After that I met with Terri who is a longarm quilter and she gave me some awesome pointers on quilting my quilts. She does beautiful work!
We bought the thread we needed to quilt the 5 tops waiting ever so patiently. I wont tell you how much it cost :( Why is thread so expensive. If anyone knows of a good place to buy thread that won't break the bank (holy "insert appropriate word here") I would love to know.
Finally we went to see the new Janome Horizon. Let me just say its a beautiful machine and is super cool. I think I feel at ease with my Baby Locks since it still has some of the features I love that the Janome doesn't have...although the Janome is very nice! I did forget to ask if it had the low bobbin warning like my BL does but I forgot. Other than that the Janome did not change anything that I would have wanted it to have like the button to lift the foot in the front, or a snap in extension table, and the threader is pretty much the same and I like my Baby Locks better. So I am still a happy camper and have the best machine for me. Although I DO love that 11 inch space for quilting :) hmmmm....lol
Then it was Home for us and take out Applebees for dinner...yumm

I agree - my quilting is terrible and any tips would be great. I love all the commentary on the sewing machines too - some day soon I have to think about replacing my ancient sewing machine and might come back to you for advice.

My main purpose I blog is to share my creations with others so I can learn and grow as a quilter. I am especially here to make new friends, so please comment! I love ALL of them!
